Energy Rated Window and Doorsets
The performance of double and triple glazed, energy-efficient windows and doors depends on a number of factors including how well they stop heat passing through the window, how little air can leak in or out around the window and how much sunlight travels through the glass.
Windows and Doors are rated and labelled using a familiar ‘traffic-light’ system to guide end-users towards energy-efficient products. Window Energy Ratings (WERs) and Doorset Energy Ratings (DSERs) are illustrated on a scale of A++ to E.
There are a number of recognised certification bodies that issue appropriate licences, and audit the companies using them, to ensure the correct specifications are being used for given Ratings.
Window Energy Rating certification bodies include the Assure Rating Register and the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC).
